When not at work you can catch her at CrossFit, walking in the North Yorkshire Dales or Moors with her family and blowing those cobwebs away dancing Cuban salsa.
Unfortunately in July 2017 Chris was paralysed from the waist down after an injury at work involving a bull; despite this he is still an active member of the Cundall and Duffy and Castle Vets Teams. He is able to drive and do Farm visits for advice and to drop off medications, give telephone consultations and is doing a weekly small animal vaccination clinic at the surgery.
In her spare time she enjoys long walks, every kind of human artistic expression and ice skating every time she has the chance to.
Amanda qualified as a veterinarian in South Africa in 2016. She started out in mixed practice but has since then found a love for emergency and critical care (ECC) as well as internal medicine and so does a combination of night emergency work and day work. Amanda started as a locum with us in September 2020 but became a permanent member of the team in January 2021. She will hopefully be starting her ECC and Medicine certificate this year.
In her free time Amanda likes to spend time travelling, adventuring outdoors and spending time with her family and 2 fur babies, Lola and Juliet.
